Phnom Penh, August 27, 2020: In order to deepen collaboration and promote sustainable development of Development of Cambodia, the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC) and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to drive the implementation of the Cambodian Sustainable Finance Principles within the Cambodian Business community.
The Memorandum was co-signed by Dr. In Channy, Chairman of ABC and Mr. Allen Tan, President of the Board of AmCham. Further, the ceremony was presided over by H.E. Rath Sovannorak, Director General of Banking Supervision of the National Bank of Cambodia and Mr. Ben Wohlauer, Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy. Both officials welcomed the initiative from the private sector organizations to collaborate on such an important subject as sustainability.
The signed Memorandum expresses commitment from both parties to promote the Cambodian Sustainable Finance Principles and their implementation from Financial Institutions through the support and engagement from the wider private sector, especially American corporations as expressed by Mr. Ben Wohlauer and Mr. Allen Tan.
Both parties are looking forward to deepen relationships and grow together through sustainability under the spirit of “Doing Well by Doing Good”.
