The 2nd Sustainable Finance Forum will focus on discussing a Green Loan Definition for Cambodia, with speaker Mr John MCGINLEY from Mekong Strategic Partners. In his presentation, John will cover:
- What a green loan is, including key benefits and practical impacts for banks and the financial sector
- Global trends, including what is happening with green loan definitions in Europe (European Taxonomy Regulation) and ASEAN
- The opportunity for Cambodia to develop its own green loan definition and what might be different for Cambodia vs. other countries

As Managing Partner of Mekong Strategic Partners (MSP) and Strategic Advisor to USAID Green Invest Asia, Mr. McGinley brings two decades of experience in banking and financial services, strategy, and the international development sector. He has successfully built high-performing businesses across the Mekong Region. Prior to founding MSP, John worked for ANZ (Australia & New Zealand) Bank for the Greater Mekong Region and led the bank’s approach to market entry and expansion across the Greater Mekong Region.

Mr. DITH Sochal has around 20-year experience in finance and banking industry. Over the years, he has held various roles across a number of with institutions including with PWC, NBC, ANZ prior to his current posting with FTB. He holds an MBA Degree. He is also an executive council member of ABC since 2019 and held as Chairperson of Sustainable Finance Committee.
