On 20th  October 2020, The Association of Banks in Cambodia had the great pleasure to welcome H. E. Rath Sovannorak, Director General of Banking Supervision of National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and H. E. Tin Ponlok, Secretary of State, Ministry of Environment (MoE) to make their remarks at the 3rd CEO Forum.

The 3rd CEO Forum focused on the key topic of Climate Change and Cambodian Banks: Risk and Opportunities. This workshop, as part of a series of events designed to support the adoption and implementation of the Sustainable Finance Principles, emphasized on raising awareness and the understanding of impacts, risks and opportunities that climate change could cause to financial institutions. The topics were covered and explained with concrete examples and proposed next steps for those institutions, which are interested in pursuing the opportunity of Sustainable Finance further.

This Workshop facilitated a very constructive exchange and shared new ideas to our banking industry for the effective adoption and implementation of the sustainable finance principles. ABC would like to express our gratitude to USAID Green Invest Asia for the great support on ABC’s Journey to adopt and implement the Sustainable Finance principles and to all our partners, speakers and banker colleagues, who were attending this important workshop. Through your support, it enables us and the entire banking industry in Cambodia to make further progress in adopting and implementing the Sustainable Finance principles. With this, we all are contributing to the global effort of combating climate change.
