ABC Extends Support to Displaced Citizens, Frontline Soldiers

On 16 January 2026, Mr. Rath Sophoan, Chairman of the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC), together with ABC Council Members and the Secretariat, had the honor of delivering financial assistance amounting to KHR 200 million to the National Bank of Cambodia. The assistance was provided to support Cambodian citizens and the families of frontline soldiers who were displaced and relocated to safe areas due to the Cambodian–Thai border conflict.

Her Excellency Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, graciously received and welcomed the delegation from the Association of Banks in Cambodia and accepted the financial assistance on behalf of the institution. On that occasion, Her Excellency also expressed her sincere appreciation for the Association’s contribution, which reflects strong patriotism and national solidarity during a time when the country is facing significant challenges. This is in addition to the support, assistance, and relief that banks have provided to the frontline soldiers and displaced people in line with NBC’s circular. It is worth noting that in early January 2026, the Association of Banks in Cambodia also provided humanitarian assistance—including food supplies, essential materials, and financial support—to heroic armed forces and displaced persons in Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Siem Reap provinces.
